To celebrate Ayie and Peroz's job transfer, and to celebrate Waniey's upcoming wedding, we gathered at Ayie's place at Taman Desa for a pyjama party and breakfast the following morning.
As always, the usual set of people: me, odeng, enni, ayie, peroz plus waniey who came back to get wed  .. Since waniey and ayie are getting married soon, then it'll be down to us minus the two, plus perhaps ban & tirah.. Sabishii naaa...
But of course, the pyjama party pics won't be available for public viewing.

Thanks to AirAsia and their free seats promotion last year, me and ciklinda finally were able to fulfill our sempai's invitation to visit penang last 2 weekends (Feb18-Feb19). As I am now a reformed shopaholic, I specifically requested for a no-shopping itinerary to our host, the ever youthful kak mazrah (wink wink), thus the makan makan and makan activities!
The chronicles of Jenjalan Carik Makan: Penang version:-
- Saturday, Feb 18 -
4 am-ish: woke up with a start! going to penang hurrahhh!!
5 am-ish: fetched by ciklinda. detour to shah alam to fetch her big bro. vrooooooommmm to KLIA.
7:00 am: boarded air asia's brand new airbus. on time takeoff. first flight with air asia. we were impressed!
8 am-ish: arrived penang airport. met by kak mazrah. breakfast at mamak's somewhere near her workplace. had roti bom and iced tea.
10 am-ish: set off for tropical spice garden at batu feringghi. detour to Giant supermarket (which kak mazrah is so proud of  ) to detoxify ourselves. had my first taste of spice drink at the spice garden. i think i had nutmeg juice.. deliciousss and thirst-quenching. a must try!
1 pm-ish: lunch at Hamideeyah at Campbell Street near Komtar. Had the most delicious nasi briyani and ayam masak merah ever!! Was surprised to discover that here ayam masak merah is actually a variation of the chicken curry. sampled the chilli pickles (jeruk cili). not bad!
2 pm-ish: browsed the bazaar near the restaurant. cheap stuff but not interested (i'm reformed, remember? )
3 pm-ish: R&R at kak mazrah's fren's place at somewhere couldnt remember the place. Thanks aisyah for your hospitality!!
8 pm-ish: set off for teluk tempoyak. seafood dinner. joined by kak lisa (another sempai of ours) and her entourage. my JAD roommate wani was there too, with her hubby ikhwan and baby nuha.
11 pm-ish: crossed the penang bridge to seberang perai where kak mazrah's house is. everybody already asleep when we got there. shower then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
- Sunday, Feb 19 -
8 am-ish: gud morning penang!! breakfast prepared by kak mazrah's sister: nasi goreng and pisang goreng. yummiieeee!!
10 am-ish: set off for padang kota. bought some nutmegs at the ferry terminal then took the ferry to cross the strait. enjoyed food galore of pasembor, mee udang and penang laksa and air kelapa..
12 pm-ish: headed for the airport. farewell kak mazrah!
12:55 pm: surprisingly.. we departed on time. boeing 737 this time.. but still, air asia surpassed our (incredibly low) expectation. definitely worth every sen!
To Kak Mazrah, iro iro osewa ni narimashita. Tanoshikatta yooooooo!!

Wetland Park, Putrajaya
|
|
Our cousins, Nana & Mimi visited from Ipoh. All of us went outing to Taman Wetland Putrajaya for some water recreations..
What a fun-filled and educational day!! Besides kayaking and boating, we were also briefed on the history and functions of the Wetland Park, which we were told that one of the functions is as a flood control measurement.
We should do this more often. So to my dear cousins.. Come and visit Putrajaya!! Lets do some barbecue party..

My cousin Nina got married last Friday (Dec 30th).
Akad nikah ceremony on Friday Dec 30th at Masjid Sg Rambai, Kuala Langat.
Bersanding ceremony on Saturday Dec 31st at Kg Jenjarom, Kuala Langat.
Bertandang ceremony on Sunday Jan 1st at Kg Sei Tiram Jaya, Tanjung Karang.
Banyak nak citer nih, tp nanti lah bila ada kelapangan..

A new bundle of joy....

Welcoming Sagna (pronounced: zah-nee-ya) to our family today..
Sagna is a healthy 1.5 months old female kitten, black furred and some white streaks on her belly. A very active baby and quite vocal too - very much contrasting to Roni!!
Had it adopted from Dr Pet. The price? Just buy a large pack of cat food to be donated to the pet store for maintenance of other cats for adoption.
For the time being, Roni doesn't seem all too happy with Sagna's arrival. Given time, he'll get used to it. Typically "Last Baby Syndrome" - he doesnt like to share his toys with her.
Sagna is not a replacement for Ghetti. Ghetti is Ghetti - irreplaceable.. Her loss is greatly mourned by us. Mebbe its just our luck that at one glance Sagna looks just like Ghetti. But if we look closer, we'd realise that Sagna's fur is quite orange-ish, while Ghetti's was jet-black. Sagna's face and body were roundish, where as Ghetti's more towards long and lean. Sagna is chubby like a teddy, but Ghetti.. as my bro likes to claim: she's anggun like ziana zain!!
5 brownie points to whoever could guess the origin of our latest baby's name!

From tomorrow onwards, after 35 years in the force, my dad is officially a First Admiral (Ret'd)....
Though retired, my dad is not one who enjoys sitting at home doing nothing. So he chooses to be an academician instead. So his retirement does not mean more time to spend with my mom!
To the greatest man in the whole world, have a nice and happy retirement (from the navy)..
p/s: Ayah, I sure miss ironing your heavy uniforms!!
